The story of three former fellow students maintaining friendly relations, changed the place and time of action. The French turned into forty-year old classmates. A bright representative of the provincial Upper-Middle class entrepreneur Mark (Dmitry Maryanov), auto dealer Gena (Konstantin Yushkevich) and a physics teacher -Tolik (Gosha Kutsenko), that has dignity of living on one salarybut yet laughs without restraint and philosophizes like there`s no tomorrow. The trio had graduated from the institute at a time when the Soviet Union was collapsing. Actions at a party exacerbated to the limit with the emergence of the femme fatale Maya (Irina Apeksimova), and the whole lot decide to «play in truth», sincerely trying to understand what and when happened to them. However - there is nothing harder than telling the truth about yourself.
Telling the truth is so difficult and it is not surprising that the NTP had to invite real acting pros who can speak up, such as Gosha Kutsenko, Dmitry Maryanov and Konstantin Yushkevich. The role of Maya, which the whole trio was desperately in love with was played by Irina Apeksimova, thanks to the emergence of which in men`s company, takes off their masks, opens revelations, and the truth becomes a game of fun although a much challenging task.
"Game of truth" - the play of Philip Lellouche struck a chord with the Russian speaking audience, NTP, together with members of production - Gosha Kutsenko, Konstantin Yushkevich, Dmitry Maryanov and Irina Apeksimova that completely rewrote the text, adapting a French drama to Russia`s realities.
Despite all the twists and turns, alcohol in certain quantities definately works wonders. Which is easier - to tell the truth or lie? What are we prepared to learn about our friends, their love lives, themselves? Will knowing make us stronger or break? What makes everyone conceal those secrets for years? Personal stories, insights, good conversations about the sad and awkward encounters in their past revelations mixed with jokes about patriotism, demographics, politics and sex, making the "Game of truth" into a light, fun, touching and lyrical performance with outstanding actors.
The play was written in French - a playwright, screenwriter, journalist and actor Philippe Lellouche (unrelated to the famous namesake Claude) in Russian language universal soil. Lellouche famous for «Ladies` Night. For Women Only " - plays on the emotions, memories and attitudes of the past and hopes for the bright future transplanted enterprise of "Independent Theater Project".
"Game of truth" has become a kind of manifesto for our times in France, a test of romantic ideals of strength. In the original play by Philip Lellouche about the relationship of men and women received much attention, but in the interpretation of NTP performance tells us not only about the battle of the sexes, but the sole and unique youth, life and truth. "Game of truth" - a play "about me" and "about us", the generation of forty years, the epoch of late socialism, love, friendship, loyalty - about banal things and frank conversations that are rarely obtained.
The Independent Theater Project has managed such a conversation. "Game of truth" - this is the sixth collaboration directed by Victor Shamirova and Elshan Mamedov - producer of the Independent Theater Project. The three main "players" - Gosha Kutsenko, Dmitry Maryanov and Konstantin Yushkevich already participated in the performances of the Independent Theater Project ": stellar trio played in the legendary performance «Ladies` Night. For Women Only" and in many others. And for the actress Irina Apeksimova part in the "game of truth" - the debut of this project, in a simple, smart, stylish and lively history, which is so close to many of us.
It does not matter that the audience laughed at the theater to tears, because at these subtle humoristic and funny situations one just has to laugh. The concepts of friendship at school are traced throughout the entire operation of adults that are not ashamed to admit their mistakes, that are not ashamed to love and be carried away, to live, who are enjoying every passing second. They live as they see fit, trying to preserve the goodness and love, even if it is not always successful. Many are able to bring love and friendship through the years. It`s a pity that few are able to appreciate such common things.
Lellouche is an educated journalist. After graduating, he began his career in radio and became an author and a lead author on the program of France Inter. Soon Philip became known as a reporter, working in such major media companies, as Envoye Special and France 2. Philippe met with the agent on television who suggested him to try his hand at the acting profession. During the filming of "Michael the Brave," which was produced by Luc Besson, the coordinator of the film prompted the idea of creating Lellouches performance.
Lellouches first stage experience was a solo performance -«One man show for three» - was played 200 times on the stages of the Paris theaters. Successful experience with this performance confirmed the desire of Philip to write scripts, but this time he decided to write a play not only for themselves.
Thus was born the idea of "Game of truth", which premiered in early 2005 on the stage of the Paris theater «Comedie de Paris». Newspaper «la Croix» called "Game of truth" a confession of children of that generation who had committed student revolution in 1968. Lellouche tried himself in various capacities: writing for the theater, staged performances - recently took his debut as a director. In addition to the theater he works a lot in movies and on television.
Tours of the Independent Theater Project in Dubai, with «Game of truth» organized by Stars Dome Group began and continues to work productively with NTP, and held their first premiere in the UAE – with the play" Boeing Boeing "in May 2009 in Dubai.
